Climate

Parma in Summer is quite hot and the day temperature may rise well above 30 °C. Light clothing and suncream are recommended in case of prolonged sunbathing.

Travelling by bus

Parma has a very extensive bus line network that covers all quarters of the city. Bus lines and routes are detailed at TEP website.
Tickets are available at any newspaper agency and tobacconist shops. Urban fares are: Single ticket valid 80 minutes from on-board validation 1.60€; Ticket for 8 single rides (80 minutes each) 11.00€; Day ticket 4,80€. The buses to University Campus (No.21 express; No.7 longer route) stop under the train station al level -2, only two minute walk from the 4* hotel where participants and lecturers are hosted.

Meals

Participants will take lunch at the University canteen, about 400 m from the School site. Lunch includes two main courses, side dish, fruit and beverage. Five lunches are included in the registration fee.
Evening meal is not organized by ISSCG-18 as dining out is very pleasant in July. There are dozens of restaurants, bars, pubs, pizzerias downtown, and we are sure that students and lecturers will enjoy discovering some of them, on both sides of the river.

Visa and invitation letters

Participants who need a Visa to enter Italian territory are advised to contact the respective Italian Consulate at the earliest as Summer is tourist season, and the consular offices may be overloaded. ISSCG -18 organizers may issue invitation letters on participants’ request.
Please contact info-isscg-18@unipr.it for invitation letters.
