We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 18th International Summer School on Crystal Growth that will be held in Parma, Italy, during July 23-28, 2023 in conjunction with 20th International Conference on Crystal Growth and Epitaxy in Naples, July 30-August 4, 2023.

Parma is located in the region Emilia-Romagna, approximately 1 hour from Bologna and 1.5 hour from Milan by train. Both cities have international airports with many direct intercontinental connections. Parma also has an airport, mostly for domestic destinations and few international flights.

The School’s programme includes lectures on theoretical and experimental aspects of crystal growth of different types of crystalline materials: Thermodynamic and kinetic fundamentals; Modelling and Simulation; Surfaces and interfaces; Polymorphism; Growth technologies for single crystals; Epitaxy and thin films; Nanocrystals and 2D crystals; Biological crystallization; Defects in crystalline materials; Case studies of technologically-important materials. Visit of laboratories at IMEM-CNR in the Campus. Leading experts will lead participants into the fascinating world of “crystal fabrication”, providing an overview of recent advancements and updated concepts.

The format of the school is designed to encourage interaction between lecturers and attendees, with informal discussions at coffee breaks, meals and social events. Participants will have the opportunity to present their own work and discuss with peers at poster sessions.
